AIDS Walk Detroit 2018 – Construction Update & Virtual Walk Option

Due to construction in downtown Royal Oak, the 2018 AIDS Walk Detroit event, which was scheduled for September 16th at the Royal Oak Farmers Market has been canceled.

Partner organizations are still able to raise funds through the AIDS Walk Detroit website in support of their programs. If you would like to participate as a virtual walker and make a donation to a partner organization, you are welcome to register, donate and fundraise through October 31, 2018 at

AIDS Walk Detroit is focused on planning an exciting, updated event for 2019 that will include new features and a move into the City of Detroit. Please watch this site for updates and information.

The AIDS Walk Detroit Board of Directors decided to cancel the 2018 AIDS Walk, scheduled for Sep. 16, 2018, due to Royal Oak construction making the route unusable, and the inability to find a suitable new event location in a limited timeframe.

Walk With Dignity Detroit on Sunday, September 16th!

On Sunday, September 16th at 10:30 AM, Dignity Detroit will keep the AIDS Walk Detroit tradition going by walking approximately 3 miles in honor of those who have lost their lives to AIDS and for everyone currently living with HIV. The walk will leave from The Royal Oak Post Office at 200 W. 2nd Street, Royal Oak, MI. Everyone who wants to walk is welcome to join. Please bring your own water and snacks! The walk will take off promptly at 10:30 AM.
